When I launched the Travel Curator, I wanted to start by highlighting the three cities in which I have lived at some point or another, so I am excited that this issue is all things London. And London has never been hotter than it is right now.
I lived in London for five years (‘93-‘98) and loved every minute of it. Back in the day when the restaurant scene was starting to gain traction, anchored by Terence Conran’s Quaglino’s and Gordon Ramsey’s Aubergine (my favorite at the time), I was running global PR for InterContinental Hotels, which meant endless hours on the roads. But when I did get to spend a weekend or two in London, I would savor every minute and spend my free time aimlessly wandering the streets of London on foot.
I recently spent a week at The Dorchester in London (and as many hours as I could at their divine spa) to check out a few things for the Travel Curator. My favorite find was the new-look Arts Club London in Mayfair – so incredibly chic. Anywhere that has cashmere on the walls has my name all over it. Spent many afternoons catching up with friends at the newly opened 45 Park Lane and, as I do every time I go to London, chatting over breakfast every morning at The Wolseley and lunches at Le Caprice (my long–time friend and manager Jesus is a must know in London), River Café, and Café Boulud (all in this month’s THE SPOT).
I hope you enjoy!
